Take A Tour Of A Hideous House

SHARE
Do you ever watch shows like Flip This House, and think, "I could totally do that"? Yeah, me neither, but some people out there are completely obsessed with buying the most rundown homes, gutting them, and turning them into a something beautiful. Again, I would probably be too overwhelmed by the emotional strain and become distraught at the sight of my home in shambles, but for some, this is their cup of tea. If you're one of those people who love the idea of flipping a home — or just knocking down the whole thing and starting from scratch — you need to see this listing.

The property

Looks can be deceiving. If you think this home isn't worth more than a couple hundred bucks, you might to surprised to find out that it actually listed for $475, 000 — CASH. The home is 1,276 square feet and is located in Northridge, Los Angeles.

The kitchen

A lot of TLC would need to go into this kitchen before you could cook anything.

Appliances

The appliances would definitely need to be replaced, as you can see from this old and stained oven.

This might take more than a bit of elbow grease...

The stovetop looks like it hasn't been used in years, either.

Dining area

Nothing says home sweet home like exposed pipes!

Master bedroom (I assume)

It's vacant and decrepit, but use your imagination. It could be gorgeous!

Bubble bath, anyone?

This home actually has two full bathrooms. Think of the bubble bath possibilities once you renovate and throw this hideous tub out on the curb.

Yikes!

My mother always told me that you can judge a person based on how clean their bathroom is. You'd better believe I'm judging hard right now.

If you aren't too grossed out by this home yet, keep reading to find out what happened to this unfortunate property. Did it sell? Was it demolished? You'll have to see on the next page...

The yard

So far, this seems to be the nicest part of the tour. At least there's some hope knowing that when this house is torn down, there is the potential for a fresh start.

Surprisingly, this is the neighborhood where the home is located

You'd think this home would be found on an abandoned lot, but it's actually in a nice residential area. Who would have guessed?

Who would be interested in this place?

Strangely, the listing got over 100, 000 views online in the first ten days that it was posted.

So what happened to this home?

If you're still trying to figure out why anyone would want to buy this home, even the site it was listed on acknowledged how hideous it was. By emphasizing the home's location and calling it a "flipper's fantasy," the home did manage to sell for $375,000. Even though that was $100,000 less than what was being asked, I'm surprised it sold at all. Now I want to see what the new owners do to this property; hopefully, they will post updates soon. What do you think of this home? Would you ever buy something like this to flip?
