These Tiny Animal Sculptures Are Made From Old Watch Parts

SHARE
I love the style of Steampunk, but you don't need to like it or even know what it is to appreciate these sculptures made by artist Sue Beatrice. These tiny, intricate animals are made from the bits and bobs that make up antique watches. Don't worry, though, for she's careful to only use parts from watches that are no longer functioning. In many cases, she also reuses the case part of the watch as a frame for her finished works.

A professional artist for over 30 years, Sue has worked as a commercial sculptor for companies like Disney, Hasbro Toys, Jim Henson, and more. She is also known for her skills in pumpkin carving, having been featured on shows like Halloween Wars, The Rachel Ray Show, and SyFy's Carvers.

She accepts commissions, like this portrait of a family pet.

The likeness is incredible!

Look at this crow!

Sue started her company, All Natural Arts, with sculptures using delicate items like insect wings and feathers, choosing pocket watch cases to protect and display them. Over time, she collected a lot of watch parts from emptying those cases and began to experiment with them.

She doesn't just stick to real-life animals either.

Look at this tiny dragon!

Meow.

In her Q&A, Sue says, "I’ve always felt a bond with nature and creatures of all types and I love the dichotomy of creating biological forms using machine parts. There’s a special magic that happens when they reach the point where they feel as if they could actually exist."

The details on this teeny tiny bumble bee are insane!

Look how small this seahorse is.

This might be one of my favorites.

A mouse and his dinner.

Here's the artist at work!

If you love Steampunk, or just love these sculptures, SHAREthem with all your friends and family!
