15 Hilarious Girlfriends That'll Tickle Your Funny Bone

Women and humor get a bad rap, in my opinion. You'll often hear people — men AND women — say that female comedians aren't as funny as male comedians, and that's just not true. The problem lies in our perceptions of gender, and more to the point of this argument, gender-specific funnies. No matter how "liberated" you are or how big a "feminist" you are or how long your "armpit hair" is, we all have an ingrained sense of what it is and is not proper for men and women to talk about. Is it stupid? Yes. Is it a thing? Also yes. Will I get emails about this article? Again, oh God yes! Do I care? No! (I needed a "no," guys, I'm sorry. Three affirmatives in a row looks weird...)!

Men can joke about their dicks till the cows come home (insert cow dick joke here), but the minute women make jokes about their vagina, a lot of people get squeamish. Want to know the funny part? When men make jokes about vaginas, we find it hilarious! Kind of weird, right? So, that being said, saying women aren't funny is clearly a bunk statement. What should be said is that we expect different things to comeout of a woman's mouth than we do a man's (come on! I set you up for a home run there...what's the matter with you?), when in fact, one of the funniest AND raunchiest people I've ever met is a woman, who happens to occupy the desk next to mine. If I had a hundred dollars for every time she's thought up some filthy joke that I wished I had...well I wouldn't be writing dick jokes on the internet anymore, anyway! So, in the spirit of us all looseningup (I'm killing it today!) here are some demonstrably funny females.
