A Teacher Wrote Inspirational Messages On Each Student's Desk Before Exams

SHARE
We have all been there: the terror of taking an exam.

Whether you were the kid who spent days studying, sleepless nights worrying, or the kid who showed up only to realize you really should have done something to prepare for this sooner, it's scary. No one likes being tested!

No one likes being faced with potential failure. No one likes doubting themselves. And guess what? All those bad feels make for some really silly mistakes on exams anyway!

So, how do we turn it around? How do we make taking tests a little less horrific for students?

THIS.

Please SHARE with everyone you know so more schools do this!

Mrs. Langford is a fifth-grade teacher at Evergreen Avenue Elementary School in New Jersey.

This week, she did something incredible to boost her students' self-confidence before taking exams.

She prepared personalized inspirational messages for each and every one of her students to read before taking their tests.

Can you imagine how pumped you'd be to read your message?

She marked the growth-mindset messages on their desks to surprise them.

She wrote in dry-erase marker so the messages could be wiped off before exam commencement.

She kept it all short and sweet with things like: "Remember, there is no elevator to success, you must take the stairs! You got this! <3 Your Teachers #growthmindset."

She signed the notes from all the teachers to show the most amount of support possible. Then, she put two doughnut holes on each desk for that much-needed mid-exam sugar boost!

These messages mark the start of something incredibly powerful.

When we teach children that hard work is worth it and that they can overcome challenges, we teach them to become strong, successful adults.

Please SHARE so more teachers start doing this!
