Just watch this first...

What a time to be alive though...

None of this will make any sense but all you need to know is that one video has been tearing up the internet. It's freaking me out and if you watch it, it'll freak you out too.

The video pretty much shows a Japanese dude dressed up in flamboyant yellow, animal-print clothing singing...

Next to a pretty addicting beat and simplistic dance routine and it's being compared to the next “Gangnam Style.” The lyrics are (if you can believe)..

"I have a pen. I have an apple. Apple-pen!

I have a pen. I have [a] pineapple. Pineapple-pen!

Apple-pen. Pineapple-pen. Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen."

"Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen" (or PPAP) is performed by someone named DJ Piko-Taro – a fictional character played by a 40-year-old Japanese entertainer Kazuhiko Kosaka.

From a new Twitter account based on the character, the new internet god wrote to fans that that "When I was making this music with play, I was [just] singing it too soon."

Since the one minute video has been uploaded on August 25, it has racked up 11.8 million views on YouTube and 9GAG's Facebook video has 90 million views.

I'm guessing it's because of the relatability of the lyrics to be honest.

But what the heck is going on??

So first off, the video says it's dedicated to: “the person whom I do not entrust with music to affect a heart.”

Allllllllllllllright there...

Turns out the comedian used to do the character in his stand-up routines and people started LOVING IT.

So he started "developing" the character for something bigger. This is Kazuhiko Kosaka in PEASANT clothes.

If you want the actual dance moves you're in luck because on the same day the video dropped, Piko-Taro taught the signature dance moves...

Yes, this is all real, stop asking that.

Viewers have pointed out that he basically looks like Borsalino, AKA Admiral Kizaru, a character from the popular anime, One-Piece.

But then, as with ALL viral videos, there are remixes. Sooooooooo many remixes and celebs are tweeting about it too....

There are literally HUNDREDS of covers of DJ Piko-Taro's minute song. There are some by Japanese stars like Riko and Rika, Thai social media star Happy Polla, and even a HEAVY METAL version!

Seriously...

And the memes have infected the internet like the ingredients that PPAP uses being swapped out.

Justin Bieber said that it's his favorite song right now... so who knows. COMMENTand tell us if he'll do a COVER...

So now we wait to see if it'll BLOW away PSY's "Gangnam Style," which passed one billion views on YouTube in Dec 2012...

COMMENT and tell us if it will! Or do you care?
