Stranger Things' And 'Harry Potter' Collide In An Amazing Way

SHARE

The BIGGEST hit show of the summer paid homage to some of the greatest movie genre: The Eighties.

"That's not a genre you say?" Well, you're entitled to your opinion or you could be right.

Stranger Things on Netflix combined the grunge-y feel of the '80s, the weird sci-fi aspect that was in everything from E.T. to Poltergeistand the kids fighting the bad guys like The Goonies and The Karate Kid.

But there is a kind of weird crossover that we might need to be on the lookout for...

Stranger Things follows a group of kids in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in 1983 who lose their friend to mysterious circumstances.

There are awesome characters like Dustin who literally broke the internet every time they smiled.

And then there was El aka Eleven aka a strong, silent-type little girl with psychokinetic abilities.

She basically came out of her shell through the help of the Hawkins kids who show her the power of friendship.

So what's the connection to pop culture touchstone Harry Potter?

It's there...

Neville Longbottom was the punching bag character who never really seemed to catch a break.

There are even theories that he's the actual chosen one.

The actor, Mathew Lewis, even grew up – and now when a less-than-cute child grows up to be hot they call it "Longbottoming."

I wish I knew that feeling.

So the actors Matt and Millie Bobby Brown (the girl who played the character El) recently snapped a picture together and I'd like to draw your attention to his cool tattoo.

If he's willing to put that on his arm, who knows – maybe this will be the poster for an upcoming season?

Never mind that the stories take place a decade apart...

I mean in half of the Harry Pottermovies were they moving stuff so it ushered in a decade of kids hoping they could move stuff with their mind.

See? Just a different version of this...

COMMENT and tell us if there should be a crossover!
