People are amazed by slow-mo videos capturing ultra-fast movement at around 70,000 fps, but what if I told you a new imaging system can capture images at 1,000,000,000,000 fps (1 trillion)?
Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab have developed an imaging system that captures images at such a high temporal resolution that the movement of light can be visualized. Yes, that's right, you can actually see photons travel through space!

In the current video, MIT researcher Ramesh Raskar explains the importance of such an imaging system, which could be utilized for medical imaging, industrial, or scientific use in the future. What's interesting is that the system doesn't use a single camera, but takes advantage of a coordinated array of 500 sensors that are triggered at very small delays from one another. These images are then combined to construct the motion scene.

You have to check out this video that goes into more detail about this incredible new development.

SHARE this incredible video with your friends on Facebook. This is a pretty big deal, people!
