You Get The Time You Get With Them, And Sometimes That’s Enough

SHARE
I've said it once and I'll say it a thousand times: people come in and out of your life, that's just how it works. We date and break up, we out grow our friends, we move — there are so many ways they leave, it sometimes seems impossible that anyone stays.

It's taken me a long time to learn to care about people without attachment, without expecting anything from them in return. But every once in a while we lose someone who makes it really hard to let go because there's no closure, or you didn't believe it was someone you'd live without — or maybe it's just because they were kinder to you than you were to yourself, and you miss sharing that with them.

But, if you can walk away from a relationship — of any kind — and feel a longing for that person, I think that's a good thing. It means you cared.
