Who else remembers the days when the Spice Girls ruled the world?
Those were the days.
They were five amazing women who loved to sing and talk about girl power!
And let's not forget that they were part of the cinematic masterpiece that is Spice World.
I still have the VHS tape of that movie. It's my most prized possession.
All our hearts broke when Ginger Spice left the group but now she's opening up about what happened behind the scenes!
Back in 1998, Geri left the Spice Girls and I remember that day so vividly.
I cried while holding onto my Spice Girls CDs. Give me a break, ok? I was very emotional that day because I was, like, five years old!
It shocked the world because Geri never really gave a clear answer as to why she left.
She recently opened up about her departure from the group. She said that it was partly because she was struggling silently with an eating disorder.
She said being in the group made her obsessed with her appearance since the group was constantly in the spotlight.
"I felt much more conscious of myself, my body weight," Geri said. "We all used different tools to get by, coping mechanisms. For me [it] was controlling my body weight."
But she finally got the help she needed and she's beat the eating disorder!
She also opened up to Oprah about the other reason why she left the group. She said she had to leave because of how popular it was. She felt it was getting out of control.
“It felt like it had grown into this huge monster, bigger than the individuals, bigger than the band itself,” Geri said.
There was too much pressure because of the fame and she said there were fights between her and the other girls. She said at the time, she just didn't know how to properly deal with conflict.
That's why Geri left just out of the blue in the middle of the Spice Girls' 1998 world tour. It left everybody shocked! Geri said she regrets that decision and called it "immature."
Geri also has spoken out about another Spice Girls reunion. She opened up about Victoria Beckham saying she wasn't going to participate in the reunion.
Geri has said that they should definitely do something as a group but that they "need a Posh." Geri also insisted that all the women are on good terms and love to meet up to chat about their lives!
And at David Beckham's birthday party, Victoria even encouraged the girls to do a reunion. So who knows! Maybe she'll change her mind!
Yes, Victoria. Do it!
