I am a verified chocoholic. I literally have chocolate every single day. And in the winter time hot cocoa is a regular occurance for me. The one thing that I can't stand, however, is those instant powdered hot chocolates. They're incredibly convenient, but they just don't taste...CHOCOLATEY. I wanted to find something that would be chocolatey, creamy, a rich, but also something that was instant. For a while I thought that it was just a pipedream. Then I stumbled across the motherload. Here is a recipe that is only two ingredients, takes little effort, whips up a whole batch, and then can be kept on hand so that whenever the cravings hit you, you're only moments away from the perfect cup of hot chocolate. Seriously. This is perfect. Forget the weak powdered crap. Make this and find out what hot chocolate shouldtaste like. Trust us here at Diply when we say that after you try this, you won't be going back to the regular powdered hot chocolate again.
What you'll need:
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
The method:
Put your chocolate chips and cream in a bowl and microwave 90 seconds. Mix well. Freeze for 2-4 hours until the mixture is firm. Scoop out into 2 inch rounds. Wrap each round in plastic wrap. Store these in freezer bags or containers in the freezer for up to 2 months. When the mood strikes for hot chocolate, simply take one out of the freezer and add it to a cup of hot milk. Stir. And enjoy your mug of chocolate heaven.
