The One Thing We Never Noticed In 'The Simpsons'

SHARE
Honestly, I can't remember a time when The Simpsons wasn't playing on the TV in our house. It was constantly on because it was the one show the whole family agreed on. Can you believe the show has been on for a record-breaking 28 seasons? The Simpsons is constantly reinventing itself by taking on current events, and the show is an endless pit of trivia. The writers and cartoonists are very sneaky when it comes to adding things in. This is something that we just picked up on, but maybe you already noticed this connection between characters. Keep reading to find out what you might have missed on the show!

Is there a better family depicted on TV right now?

I think not.

This yellow family and the residents of Springfield have been making audiences laugh for 28 seasons.

But in all those years and seasons, I bet you never noticed the connection between Marge and Sideshow Bob...

The Simpsons sure do love this one number, 24601.

Sideshow Bob is Bart's arch nemesis and is frequently seen in jail.

What's his prisoner number?

 24601!

But... why is that number special?

This is a number that gets used multiple times on the show.

In the episode "Marge in Chains," Marge also receives this number!

Oh, you just thought the connections ended there? NOPE.

The number appears on Principal Skinner's helmet in the episode "Homer's Barbershop Quartet."

So where did this number come from? Well, it all stems from Les Misérables.

The character Jean Valjean had the same prisoner number!

And it's been used in so many other things too.

The most notable example is Oscar Bluth from Arrested Development, who receives that number when in prison.

In South Park, Eric Cartman's cell number is 24601.

Weird, right?
