15 Insane Ways Russians Get Through Winter

SHARE
Ah, scenic Russia, a quaint, conservative nation with strong traditions and a well established way of life founded on respect for authority, courage, and strength.

The Russian people are no strangers to tough times – every year brings a notoriously crushing winter, which shapes the people who have to endure it.

So how DO they endure those long, harsh, bitterly cold months? Shouldn't the whole country basically have a stubborn case of cabin fever? Shouldn't Russian citizenship come with a get-out-of-frostbite free card?

Well, from all the available evidence, Russians don't let a little cold weather stifle their creativity or sense of fun. They're going to live their lives however they want, and pull off whatever crazy stunts they want to no matter the temperature.

And really, wouldn't you be determined to make the most of a Russian winter?

1. Just out for a jaunty ride around Moscow with the rag-top down and the snowfall fallin'.

Which you'll see is always preferable to the cabs.

2. Stop sign frozen over? Not a problem in Russia...

3. The snow drifts will stop you anyway.

4. And if your transport truck breaks down, there's still a way to deliver your shipment.

5. When you have a horse and a wakeboard, you make your own beach party.

6. ...and then celebrate with a selfie, Russian-style.

7. Just your average Russian cab ride...

8. To your average Russian destination.

With your average Russian friends.

Seriously though, are bears everywhere?

9. Because sometimes you just have to chill with your homies...

Yes, bears are everywhere. At least, everywhere there's a party.

10. Apparently Russia also has some ridiculous team-building exercises.

11. When the sun shines in Russia, you get out there and tan, no matter the season.

12. You're not supposed to drink in a hot tub, but in a cold tub? Only the best.

13. How bad is this kid's neighborhood?

14. Anybody up for some Tetris?

15. Should go without saying, don't try this at home.

Or the office. Or somebody else's home. Or anywhere, ever.
