16 Famous Logos Like You've Never Seen Them Before

SHARE
One of the most important steps in trying to launch a business is coming up with a logo. It seems secondary to what your company actually makes or does, but it's surprising how much it can draw people to you.

And so, when a company releases a logo, the aim is to make it attractive and recognizable. Logos aim for instant recognition and creating a positive association.

For that reason, they don't really aim for honesty. So that's where the rest of us come in to fill in the blanks. And Italian designer Marco Schembri is certainly doing his part in that department.

But he wasn't the only one tired of dishonest logos. So let's see what he and his fellow netizens really think of some of the world's biggest companies with these 16 accurate logos.

COMMENT and let us know what corporation really needs one of these.

1. Starbucks

Yeah, I never got why a coffee company's logo looked so chill all the time either.

2. Absolut

This edit is definitely better for putting you in the right state of mind for this product.

3. Gillette

Nothing inspires confidence in Gillette's razors more than a sliced up logo.

4. Red Bull

It may not give you wings, but the edited logo understands that everybody's about 10 times louder when they drink it.

5. Nestlé

Yeah, every chocolate bar is an acne balancing act. And if you've seen my face, you could probably guess that Nestlé won.

6. McDonald's

Try as they might, it looks like McDonald's just can't stop packing on America's pounds.

7. Nutella

Nutella may be delicious, but apparently you pay for it in the end.

8. Braun

I didn't get this one at first, but Schembri shaved the top of the A off. They're a razor company. Clever, huh?

9. Durex

I guess if the logo's honest, the customers don't have to be. Seems a little big, is all.

10. Zippo

It's a little harder to read, but I actually really like the nice smoky feeling this edit has.

11. British Petroleum

This one comes from Michael Spitz and the oil and dead fish are way more on target than BP's ridiculous greenwashing logo.

12. Kentucky Fried Chicken

Looks like another artist took aim at the fattening effects of fast food by bulking up ol' Colonel Sanders.

13. YouTube

The last few were made by Viktor Hertz, who you'll notice has more fun with words. All he missed here were YouTube's awful comments, but I guess that's not the company's fault.

14. Playboy

This one's not so true anymore, but I don't think anyone saw that coming.

15. Camel

When we're talking about tobacco companies, it all comes back to one simple word.

16. Facebook

We're all guilty of it, but I guess Facebook's role depends on how much you really like your friends.

COMMENT and tell us which company could use a little more honesty.
