McDonald's Releasing Bottles Of Big Mac Sauce, Making Dreams Come True

Usually product promotions are just terrible. They're obviously desperate gasps from dying companies, more death rattle than anything. But sometimes, sometimes, the sun smiles down upon us and those promotions give us what we've all been clamoring for. Today is that day, folks. Special Sauce is here, and McDonald's is assuring us it's not just Thousand Island dressing. I always thought it was, and I tried to tell myself it was the same when I put it on burgers at home. But it's not quite the same, is it? Here's hoping somebody out there gets a bottle of this and can break down just how it's different.

At long last, McDonald's will let you take a bottle of their Big Mac Special Sauce home with you.

If you're among the lucky 10,000 to get one in their giveaway, that is. McDonald's is releasing information on where and when to get one on its Twitter feed.

For those of us who thought Special Sauce was just Thousand Island dressing, McDonald's insists that's not the case.

"The Big Mac Sauce is unique to McDonald’s and includes a classic combination of ingredients," said spokeswoman Becca Hary. "The Bic Mac Sauce remains timeless and customers around the world continue to enjoy its signature taste."

Giving away bottles of Special Sauce is part of a promotion for the launch of two new sizes of Big Macs: the Mac Jr. and the Grand Mac.

The Mac Jr. is the same basic burger, just with one less layer. Although the Grand Mac has as many layers as the classic, it uses larger patties on a bigger bun with an extra slice of cheese.

McDonald's felt the new Big Macs were necessary after internal research showed only one in five millenials had ever tried its iconic burger.

Which is hard to believe, because it's just such a tasty burger. Kids these days!
