11 Confessions From UFC Ring Card Girls

Being a UFC ring girl looks super easy, right? Just walk around holding up a piece of cardboard with some numbers on it. But there's actually a little more to it than that. These girls are hard workers, though every now and then they do get to have a little fun. But what does their job actually entail? And just what kind of fun are they having? Up there beside the fighters seems like a neat place to be, but is it really? VICE even interviewed one of the girls to get some of her answers...

1. The girls don't really have to know anything about MMA, but most of them become interested the more they work in the ring.

2. Because the girls sit right next to the ring, they are often sprayed with blood and sweat.

3. And when fighters fall out of the ring? Sometimes they fall right onto the girls!

4. Also, the hits are very real – and sound worse than they look.

Most of the girls learn to get over being squeamish very fast.

5. Some of the girls get very attached to the fighters. Seeing them in their first fight and then seeing them win a belt can be very emotional for them.

6. Yes, getting in and out of the ring wearing those outfits is a little tricky. But the girls practice!

7. The UFC ring girls are allowed to wear bikinis of any style as long as their bits and pieces stay inside their clothes.

8. There is really no grueling training process for being a ring girl. Most of them are models, though, and are comfortable in front of crowds and in heels.

9. Yes, there are still ring girls in women's fighting.

10. A lot of the girls bring food to eat during the fights. They always end up sharing with the other girls – buffet style.

11. Some of the girls try out fighting as a workout method, and many absolutely love it!
