13 Fast Facts About 'The Fate Of The Furious'

SHARE
The Fate of The Furious is going to be crazy. The eighth installment of The Fast and the Furiousfranchise has an all-star cast, huge explosions, ridiculous cars, and a plot twist that fans could have never anticipated. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming film.

Who’s your favorite Fast and the Furious character? Let us know in the comments!

1. The Fast and the Furious franchise was launched in 2001.

The first film starred Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster.

2. It’s come a long way since. From illegal racing on the streets of Los Angeles, to stopping criminals across the globe in the newest film, The Fate of the Furious.

Check out the title screen.

3. The film is directed by F. Gary Gray.

The same guy who directed The Italian Job and Straight Outta Compton.

4. According to an Instagram post from Vin Diesel, there will be at least two more movies after this one.

WOW!

This film will be missing one important character...

5. Other than The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, this will be the first film in the franchise not to star Paul Walker, who sadly passed away in 2013.

6. The movie was shot in New York, Cuba, Iceland, and Los Angeles.

Here's a shot from Cuba.

7. Charlize Theron plays a villain named Cipher in the film.

And she looks totally badass.

8. Dom Toretto goes rogue!

We aren't sure why yet, but Cipher somehow convinces Dom to join the bad guys.

Somehow one of the good guys ends up in jail...

9. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character, Luke Hobbs, goes to prison.

According to Dwayne, his character has an, "iconic prison breakout". We can't wait for that.

10. Deckard Shaw, played by (my personal hero) Jason Statham, and Hobbes will have to work together.

Although these two have been enemies in the past, they will need to come together in The Fate to help bring Dom back from the dark side.

11. Helen Mirren is in the movie???

Yep, the Oscar winner is rumored to play Magdalene Shaw, the mother of Owen and Deckard Shaw.

12. Lucas Black is back.

Lucas will be back in the role of Sean Boswell, his character from Tokyo Drift, the third instalment of the franchise released back in 2006.

13. Things got heated on set between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel.

Dwayne was reportedly upset that some of his scenes were cut last-minute and that members of the cast were late to the set. Hopefully, these two have patched things up!
