1. Believe it or not this is the first feature film to have a computer-animated lead character!
2. Remember the scene where Casper is fooling around and is writing on the chalkboard? If you pause the movie and look closely, the sentence says: "Paul Revere and William Dowes saw and warned."
3. When Casper is dragging Kat out the window and takes her to the lighthouse, the producers tied a piece of fishing line to Christina Ricci's wrist so it would look like she was being pulled by a ghost.
4. There was supposed to be a musical scene in the movie called "Lucky Enough To Be A Ghost." It was even filmed! The three ghosts sang about their mental problems during a session with Dr. Harvey.
Unfortunately, the scene had to be cut because of cost. Apparently, the animation for the scene would've cost a few million dollars!
5. During filming, Christina and Bill Pullman had to use tennis balls to talk to when they had scenes with the ghosts!
6. A ton of items from the set are actually on display at Universal Studios in Orlando!
7. The last name of Christina and Bill's characters is Harvey, which isn't a random name. Harvey Comics is the long time publisher of Casper the Friendly Ghost!
8. Casper's last name isn't "The Friendly Ghost." His real last name is McFadden. You can see his full name in the newspaper headline on the floor when Christina's character reads about Casper's dad!
9. A scene was filmed with Zelda Rubinstein where she shouted "Go toward the light!" – which was exactly what her character in Poltergeist said. Unfortunately it was cut for time!
I wish the scene was kept in the movie!
10. Everybody loved working on the movie so much that a sequel was proposed! The writers even wrote a script for it before production on the movie even finished!
But Christina and Bill were going to film other movies so the producers decided to make a cartoon series instead.
11. There are a ton of cameos in the movie! Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Raymond Stantz from Ghostbusters yelled, "Who you gonna call? Someone else!"
12. Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood also made an appearance in the movie! They were one of the people Dr. Harvey turns into while possessed by the Ghostly Trio!
13. Bill said that to come up with a goofy/scared expression he'd just concentrate and imagine that he really had seen a ghost.
14. This is actually the second movie where Christina and Devon Sawa (human Casper) played love interests! The other movie was called Now and Then.
Christina has to be the luckiest actor in the '90s. Every girl growing up had a huge crush on Devon!
15. Who else thought Whipstoff Manor was so creepy?! What's even creepier is that it's based on a real life location called Casta Batlló.
I kind of want to visit it but I'm pretty sure it's haunted! I'd be so scared!
COMMENT and tell us your favorite scene from the movie!
