The 2000s were a simpler decade, weren't they?
Hanging out with friends, your fingers feverishly sending out T9 texts to spread the word you're going to see the new Lindsey Lohan movie. While on the way, you bump the latest Destiny's Child track from your MP3 player, while checking the mirror to make sure your trucker hat is on right.
No Snapchat, no selfies, the decade was really a transition from the crazy 90s to the reserved world of today.
So sit back and enjoy these next 16 photos that'll bring you back to the 2000s.

1. Nothing made you cooler on the playground than a yo-yo with ball bearings that held that spin, walking the dog around the world.

2. 2000's punk rock checklist: plaid pants, chain wallet, spiked hair, Doc Martins, metal studded accessories. All he needs now is a mosh pit and we're good.

3. I remember my sisters had a whole living room set growing up. Pretty sure I popped one entirely... by accident.

4. You couldn't go anywhere back in the day without seeing at least three girls a day with this hat on.

5. This is probably the most 2000 thing ever. To imagine, it took a whole minute to send this to someone using T9.

6. Mini disc players were a quick fad, but being able to fit over thirty songs on one disc seemed magical at the time.

7. ...And then these bad boys came out. Though, you weren't really cool unless you had an iPod.

8. Paris Hilton holding a Gamecube at a Nintendo event is pretty much this decade in a nutshell.

9. Told ya it was a simpler time. If you were a young impressionable female during the 2000s, this show was your jam.

10. ...And this was their favorite movie (or still is).

11. Eminem sharing M&Ms with other Eminems. But, who's the real slim shady?

12. Every time I saw a kid rolling down the street in a pair of these I secretly wanted them to hit a rock.

13. Don't lie, you probably had a stash like this in high school. Puka shells for life.

14. This is how people used to listen to their own music in their car. Usually stored in the backseat, and always open.

15. You're looking at the last video cassette tape ever purchased!.. Or not, though plausible.

16. Mine had a picture of blink-182. To each their own I guess.
