After Spending $2 Million, Twin With Face Abnormality Wants To Look Like His Brother

There are so many things that are constantly happening in the world that sometimes we forget to appreciate what we have. For many people, life isn't all fun and games. No one is born on equal terms, whether that means the location we're born, what family we're born into, or which family we're born into. All of these things help to define who we are. While, for most of us, that means very little, there are exceptions to the rule that are significantly better off or worse off than others. Unfortunately for this man, he was given, in his opinion, the short end of the stick and wasn't on equal grounds as his own brother.

Meet Nate Gomes (second from the left). He's pictured with his mother and identical twin brother.

You might be thinking, "Hey, aren't identical twins... Identical?" In Nate's case, not quite.

Nate was affected by something called twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

This led him to be born with a number of issues.

Some of Nate's many problems included a hole in his heart, cleft foot, and a large separation between his eyes.

As he grew up, all he wanted was to "look like everyone else."

As a result, he has spent his life, and close to $2,000,000, attempting to "correct" his look.

Sadly, all that time and money went to waste, until Nate met Dr. Nassif.

Finally, he had a real chance.

Dr. Nassif gave Nate hope, saying, "Lift up the corner of the eyes, add volume, take care of your neck, soften your cheek area, do your nose... What do you think of that?"

After eight hours of surgery, Nate came out in bandages, awaiting the results.

When he finally took the bandages off, he excitedly said, "I look normal now, which is what I wanted from the beginning. I never asked for perfect I just asked for normal."

What do you think of Nate's amazing surgery?
