This Beauty Vlogger Uses Sign Language In Her Makeup Tutorials, And The Internet Loves Her

SHARE
Beauty blogger Catherine Martinez is on a mission to connect with the deaf community through her ASL makeup tutorials on Instagram.

Her goal to be more inclusive in her videos, and it's seriously inspiring.

What makes Catherine Martinez's beauty vlogs on Instagram so different from other vlogs is that they're accessible to the deaf community.

Catherine isn't deaf herself, but she knows ASL and is using that to create more inclusive videos.

Her videos also have text captions, which really is convenient for everyone.

Catherine was studying in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at NYU, where she took a class in sign language.

It was there that she realized that many of her classmates, who were either hard of hearing or deaf, had little to no resources for beauty tutorials.

She decided to close the gap between the deaf community and social media platforms that only provide auditory tutorials.

She covers everything from mascara and lipstick to skincare tutorials, and her skills are A+.

Unsurprisingly, the feedback on her videos has been overwhelmingly positive.

We're so inspired by her willingness to help others, and we hope you are, too!
