16 Things Every Kid Wanted For Christmas In The '90s

SHARE
As someone who was born in the '80s, I like to think I grew up during some of the best eras to be a kid. The movies, television shows, toys, and music of the '80s, '90s, and early 2000s are to this day some of the most memorable and beloved, and honestly, I don't know if any future generation will ever get to experience that.

I have so many great memories from my childhood, and I believe they have everything to do with some of my current obsessions, like Halloween, Christmas, classic movies, and throwback playlists. And of all those things, Christmas is and always will be the most wonderful time of year for me. There's just something about it that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even when it's 30 below and blizzarding outside.

If your childhood took place during any of these decades, especially the '90s, you're going to love the collection of nostalgia I've put together below. And as a kid who wrote her fair share of letters to Santa, I can tell you that pretty much all of these things made the wish list cut at some point in time.

Take a look through these classic '90s products, let them bring you back, and then tell us which ones were your favorite in the COMMENTS. Then, SHAREthis article with everyone you know who enjoys taking a walk down memory lane!

1. Polly Pocket

I only had one Polly Pocket set growing up. It was this one, and I loved it!

2. Digital Pets

The '90s was the era of Tamagotchis, Nano Pets, Digi Pets, Giga Pets, and any other form of digital pet you could imagine. And if you didn't have one, you definitely put it on your Christmas list.

3. Sky Dancers

If you think pulling a cord that launches a doll into the air doesn't sound like the best thing ever, then you never played with Sky Dancers.

4. Stretch Armstrong

As a kid, I always wondered what was inside Stretch Armstrong that made him so stretchy. Now, as an adult with access to the worldwide web, I can find out the answer: latex rubber filled with corn syrup.

5. Skip-It

I spent hours playing with my Skip-It, and to be honest, if I still had one today, I'd probably get right back into it.

6. Spice Girls Dolls

Sporty Spice was my girl!

7. Razor Scooter

One Christmas, both my brother and I got Razor scooters. Even though there was a ton of ice and snow outside, we still played with them all day long.

8. GT Snow Racer

If you didn't ride a GT Snow Racer at least once as a kid, your childhood was incomplete.

9. Pogs

Before Pokémon cards, Pogs and Slammers were the things to play with and trade at recess.

10. Doodle Bear

This was one of my favorite toys growing up. I drew and drew all over my Doodle Bear until it was old and faded from over washing!

11. Furby

I can't believe these things are still around, but I'll never forget how crazy people were for them back in the day.

12. Magic Nursery Doll

I still remember the hairstyle and outfit my Magic Nursery doll had: a high brown ponytail and a black, neon pink, and neon green checkered dress over a yellow t-shirt!

I also remember that her neck was actually a plastic cone...because her head was eventually ripped from her body by my little brother, lol.

13. Nintendo

The greatest video game consoles to ever exist were Nintendo, Super NES, N64 and the original Game Boy. To this day, nothing compares to them.

14. Talkboy

"Howdy do. This is Peter McCallister, the father. I'd like a hotel room please, with an extra large bed, a TV, and one of those little refrigerators you have to open with a key. Credit card? You got it."

15. Littlest Pet Shop

Am I the only one who still remembers the theme song from this commercial? "The Littlest Pet Shop. That's whooo!"

Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

16. Mad Scientist Labs

Finally, every '90s kid remembers eating and drinking some questionable (but at the time, delicious) concoctions thanks to sets like Easy-Bake Ovens, the Creepy Crawlers Workshop, and the Dr. Dreadful Food Lab.
