Bullies are everywhere — it's a sad truth, but chances are you've probably encountered a bully more than once in your life. Growing up, I dealt with relentless bullying. I was an overweight kid with a weird sense of humor, and people saw my differences as an opportunity to tear me apart. I learned how to deal with the bullies early on, and once I stopped giving them the reactions they were looking for, they moved on.
Sadly, bullies aren't going anywhere, so it's important to learn how to deal with them. In this video, a group of young men put on a show in a mall food court in order to see how others will react to bulling. In the scene, a young boy named Rossi is being bullied by his teammates about his poor basketball skills, and their mean comments have drawn attention from other mall patrons. The mall patrons have no idea that the boys are acting, and after Rossi's teammates leave, they approach Rossi to see if he is okay. The mall patrons all had great advice for Rossi, but what really impressed me was that they actually approached him.
If you see someone being bullied, don't be afraid to speak up! Just letting someone know that they are not alone can make a big difference in their life.
