Very Good Dog Saves Abandoned Kittens And Insists On Being Foster Dad

I think we can all agree that anyone that abandons an animal is a monster, but there is a special amount of evil in someone who abandons a baby animal.

I get it. Not everyone has the time or money to take care of a surprise litter of kittens, but that's why it's so important to get pets spayed and neutered. 

Unfortunately, it's so common that when a Greek volunteer for the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) walked her dog, she was used to finding empty boxes.  

Her walking route is along the slopes of the Immitos mountain, where many predators live and hunt, like foxes.

In fact, the abandoned boxes, which often held blankets and toys but no animals, were so common that she had taken her camera on her walk intending to make a video about the problem.


Instead, her dog Aragon pulled her to a box that wasn't empty at all. 

Four tiny kittens were inside, and were taken immediately to SCARS for care. Aragon remains very attentive to his new foster babies.

"He has been an excellent foster dad since day one," said his owner, who was just so happy to not find yet another empty box.

The kittens were named Makalou, Manaslou, Lhotse, and Cho, after some of the Himalayan mountains. 

All four are strong and healthy, and they're looking for forever homes. 

But until then, Aragon seems more than happy to keep them safe.
