After many seasons of sensational science, MythBustershas finally come to an end. No more will we see the experiments of Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, or of the ever creative build team of Grant Imahara, Tory Belleci, and Kari Byron. Now where will we get our weekly doses of super-science? Well it turns out there is a reason the show has finally come to an end. So let's go ahead and find out, shall we?

MythBusters is the science show we've all grown to love over the years.

Between all the explosions, cool experiments, and ambitious projects, they've seen it all.

It's hard to believe that it's been on the air since 2003.

Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman began busting myths on January 23rd, and we were all better educated for it.

From surviving plane crashes to exploding hair gel to elevators cutting cars in half, there isn't any stone left unturned by these intrepid scientists.

Not to mention they really did wonders for the popular image of facial hair. I wonder how many men now sport walrus whiskers thanks to Jamie!

But it hasn't been all fun and games for the MythBustersAnd that's why it all finally ended earlier this year, with the final episode airing on March 5th.

But there was a reason for this tragic end.

For much of the show's run, it was evenly split between the two leads and the experiments run by the build team.

The build team were an interesting slot in the show. Grant was always my favorite – he's a former Battle Bots champion!

Well for the final season of the show, these three lovable co-hosts were axed from the program.

This was a tragic loss to many, and it was shocking to see more than half of the presenters cut from the show in one go.

Many suspected that the loss of these three was a sure sign of decline in the show. While it may have been a sign, it wasn't the actual causeof the series' end.

The real reason comes down to the two originals.

Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman are the reason the show came to an end.

See, the fact of the matter is that the two of them don't actually get along all that well.

Adam said they were "adhering to the most age-old of performance tropes of the funny man/straight man."

When asked if the two would continue to work together in the future, Adam said that they would not.

He also further explained that the two of them were happy for the separation. They're simply incredibly different people.

Adam was quick to clarify that the two work well together on builds and have great respect for each other. Their skill and professionalism is without question, but they genuinely drove each other "batty," as Adam put it.

So there you have it, it's as simple as that.

The show must not go on because after 14 seasons working together, they felt they had done what they needed, and kinda needed to get away from each other.

So is there anyone else you know who loves busting myths and has to be right about everything? SHAREthis with them!
