Turning 25 is one of those milestones that deserves an extra-special present. You've made it a quarter of a century and are well on your way into adulthood.
Some people might splurge on a trip to celebrate, or buy a high-cost item they couldn't justify before.
Imgur user jekyllandclyde decided that she wanted to get herself a dog.
She headed to the humane society and came across a cattle dog / aussie / golden retriever mix, who she says looked sad, but was the absolute sweetest.
"I thought he was so loving and happy at the humane society...and then I brought him home and those eyes and ears just came to life!!!"
His name is Teddy and it's no surprise that she describes him as her new best friend.
It's always so incredible to see how an adopted animal comes alive when they are given a loving home.
"He’s got a good snoot to boop!!!" she said in a comment, which definitely seems to be the case.
Normally a homebody in the winter, she's already found that Teddy is changing her life just as much as she did his.
He's keeping her active with walks and frequent trips to the dog park.
I just love that instead of buying herself something frivolous, she decided to bring a new family member into her life and changed Teddy's life for the better.
And it's a great example of why it's so important to rescue and adopt animals rather than buying them.
