Riddle About Two Ladies Seems Simple, But One Twist Makes It Really Frustrating

SHARE
When someone tells you a riddle, they're usually trying to misdirect you. They already know what the story they're telling you sounds like, and the clues are maddeningly true yet unhelpful. The only lying involved is lying by omission because there's one little detail that makes it all make sense. The missing piece of the puzzle.

To find it, you have to look at the problem from every angle you can think of. The most frustrating thing about riddles is that there aren't a lot of truly ridiculous answers because a great deal of them could be true. There's always only one correct answer.

All this is great to keep in mind as we puzzle through this riddle about two ladies at a job interview.

Please COMMENT and tell us how you did on this tricky riddle.

So yes, both women apply for the job at the same time.

I'm don't think they usually interview two people at once, but whatever.

The interviewer notices the two women look the same.

But their similarities don't end there.

Their voices are also exactly the same.

I've met identical twins who sounded nothing alike, so that's really unusual.

To top it all off, they have the same parents.

So the interviewer asks if they're twins. Honestly, it seems like an obvious question.

At least it would be, except they both say they're not twins.

You might think they could just be sisters who look very similar.

But no, they were born at the same time just like any set of twins.

It's understandable if you're starting to get annoyed by this riddle.

If these two fulfill every requirement to make them twins, how are they not twins? If it walks like a duck, right?

Of course, there's something this riddle is leaving out. Actually, there's someone who's being left out.

If that still doesn't help, here's your answer.

The two ladies were actually part of a set of triplets. They didn't want to count out their other sister.
