12 Weird DIY Beauty Treatments That Really Do Work

SHARE
Being the skincare-obsessed person I am, I would be lying to you if I said I haven't done any weird beauty DIY treatments. I mean, these DIYs are all over social media, so I can not escape them. Also, a curious person like me lives for these kinds of treatments. They are so much fun. Plus, these DIYs can save you a ton of money. Face masks and hair masks can cost a ton, so why not make your own? It's so worth it.

For the longest time, I used to put honey and cinnamon on my face every night. Even though it was messy, it worked wonders for my skin. Because of that, I have been on the hunt to do more DIY beauty treatments. Thankfully, the internet is not lacking in that department. While scrolling through my Instagram, I have stumbled upon some crazy treatments. Like, really weird stuff. Not only are they weird, but I kind of want to recreate them. I'm sure you would want to, too. Here are 12 weird DIY beauty treatments that you will want to try!

1. Glowing Mask

Not only does this mask look cool when you peel it off, but it also gives you amazing results. Seriously, her skin is actually glowing! She is definitely skipping out on applying highlighter tonight. To make this mask, put two tea bags and agar powder in boiling hot water. Let it cool, and then apply it onto your face. I need to make this mask!

2. Charcoal

This is something I do all the time. Mix water with some activated charcoal, and then apply it onto your face. You can also put some on your teeth. Charcoal will help pull out toxins on your face and whiten your teeth. Yas!

3. Botox Face Mask

If you are considering getting botox, get a hibiscus flower, parsley, and some sour cream instead. Mix those ingredients together, and then apply it onto your face. Keep it on for 30 minutes, and then wash it off. Even though this looks super gross, I definitely want to try it.

4. Relax Wrinkles

To diminish the look of crows feet, mix blueberry yogurt, honey, and a banana together. Apply that mixture onto your problem area, and then wash it off after 15 minutes. Not going to lie, this mixture sounds delicious. I would definitely have it for breakfast.

5. Oily Skin and Hair Detox

Many people suffer from oily hair and skin. Fight back that oil by mixing Rhassoul clay and water together. Apply this mixture onto your hair and skin, and then leave it on for 20 minutes. Even though this mask looks a little crazy, I'm sure it's worth it.

6. Rainbow Nose Peel

I only want to do this because it looks so pretty! First, mix your glue with individual acrylic paint colors. Then you can start painting your nose. Wait a couple of minutes for it to dry and peel it off. Now sit back, relax and stare at your blackheads that you peeled off.

7. Green Tea Face Mask

Green tea is basically a heaven send. Mix up some matcha, avocado oil, and warm water, and leave it on your skin for 15 minutes. You might look like Shrek for a bit, but who cares!

8. Lip Tint

Darken up your lip color by applying henna onto it. This is so unusual, but I'm digging it.

9. Gold Face Mask

This is one expensive face mask. Cover your face with a bunch of gold sheets. Then take some lotion and rub the sheets into your face. You will probably feel like a million bucks when you're done with this face mask.

10. Papaya Face and Hair Mask

This looks so messy, so I definitely can't do this at my home. My mom would probably kill me. If you want to create this mask, mix papaya, egg yolk, and almond milk together. Apply this all over your hair and face. This is a great hair treatment and awesome face mask!

11. Brightening Underarms

Getting rid of dark underarms is hard. Trust me, I am trying. If you put some baking soda on a lemon and rub it onto your underarms, it can help drastically with that darkness. I really want to try this.

12. Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening strips are expensive. Like, seriously, so expensive. Instead of spending big bucks on them, you can whiten your teeth with turmeric and coconut oil. I love how yellow your teeth look like with this mixture on, but when you brush your teeth, they look so pearly white. So cool!
