12 Words That Were Somehow Added To The Dictionary

SHARE
All across the world, there are so many different people that it's hard for everyone to be on the same "wavelength." Since we're so far apart, it's only natural that we've all learned to speak different languages, though more and more people are starting to speak English. When you need to look up the definition of a word, or if the word you're looking for even exists, you generally refer to the dictionary. It's generally hard to keep up with the dictionary because things are constantly changing, but some of the words they add to it are questionable, to say the least!

1. Believe it or not, "bling" is actually a word. Now you can refer to your jewelry as bling AND be correct.

2. Have you ever gotten "crunk?" While it refers to the genre of music, some still use it as a verb.

3. Hater is used so much that it's a real word now, too!

4. Illiterati, like the Illuminati, are thought to be an organization of people with the main difference being that they're poorly educated — and not hidden.

5. Those tight-fitting pants that look like jeans called jeggings? Yup, they're a thing.

6. Man boobs, also referred to moobs, are an official word, too!

7. Everyone has heard YOLO before, so it's no surprise that "you only live once" has made it into the dictionary!

8. Muffin topping officially refers to the fat that "overflows" from a person wearing tight-waisted shorts/pants.

9. While being a "noob" is considered derogatory, it refers more-so to the fact that someone is inexperienced or new.

10. Calling the police the "po-po" is a real way to refer to them!

11. These are totes words found in the dictionary... including totes.

12. Even "woot" is a real word!

Should all of these words be "real" words? Probably not, but language evolves from popular usage!
