Times “Mom Texts" Proved Moms Are The Best

SHARE
When Avery Leilani Foster’s mom dropped her off at Texas State University’s freshman orientation, she didn’t realize it, but the 18-year-old was about to get schooled in more ways than one.

A little while after kissing her goodbye, Avery's mom began texting her daughter pictures of herself enjoying orientation. Really enjoying orientation.

Avery's mom texted pictures showing her daughter she was embracing college life and all it had to offer.

And that included the football team.

When Avery posted a shot of the texts on Twitter, her mom became an instant internet sensation.

But Avery’s mom isn’t the first mom to show her inner queen via text…

And at least when Jess’ mom met a hot guy…

…she thought of her daughter. But what concert was she at?

This mom is suuuuper hip. She has her finger on the cutting edge of popular culture.

(Shame it’s about two decades out of date.)

This mom brought Crocs.

Pity she lost the love of her family in the process.

She might be a mild-mannered, cake baking type of mom…

…but put her and Aunt Sue together and she is trouble.

But partying hard catches up with the best of us, including cool moms.

Happily she knows the cure is a beer, a pretzel dog, and a whole lot of attitude.

Even when grappling with the intricacies of technology, like voice to text, moms still maintain the ability to multitask.

Like organizing dinner at the same time as aggressively road raging.

Moms are totally too cool for embarrassment.

They tell it like it is regardless of how much you’re cringing.

When she tries so hard to keep up with the latest radio jams.

But she just can't quite master the lyrics. And is that a photo of her lunch? #thatswhatilike

But life’s not all about parties, concerts, and hot men.

Even Party Moms appreciate the beauty of the small things in life. And text about it.

It’s a universally understood truth that the mom who signs off her texts “Mom” is the second-best type of mom.

The best being, of course, the mom who signs off her texts “Love, Mom.”

With some moms, it’s hard to know if she loves spending time with you because you’re her child.

Or whether she's just looking for a drinking buddy.

And the mom who's had a little to drink…

…well she can get up to some pretty disturbing things. Run, Dad, just run.

Like forgetting how to use the space bar.

It doesn't get more horrifying than this.

The life of a mom can be pretty tough.

She has to grapple with life’s tough questions.

And it’s not always easy.

Sometimes getting in touch with former presidents isn’t as straightforward as one would imagine.

But through it all, good times and bad, we can rest assured that Mom is always on the lookout for our best interests.

Or hers. Sometimes it’s hard to tell.

Happily, there are moms who understand that there are times to drink and times to do laundry.

And in both cases it’s important to keep inventory.

Yes, text messages have enabled us to see a whole new side of mom.

Finally, we get to see her as a person—as a sassy, bold, fun lady who possibly can’t hold her drink and has a penchant for college football players.

Yet, never fear, beneath the cool exterior is the mom we know and love: the one that sends us a snap and then sends us a text telling us she has sent us a snap. Bless her.
