'Smartphone Pinkie' Causing Injuries From Too Much Cellphone Use

SHARE
Humanity has come such a long way in terms of progression. In the past 50 years, we've made computers a reality and made them easy to acquire. On top of that, we've taken it to the next level and made smartphones as powerful as laptops from only a few years ago. As a result of the accessibility of smartphones, we're pretty much always glued to them. You can't walk down the street without seeing a bunch of zombies on their phones, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, unless they're unaware of their surroundings.

Sadly, the zombie apocalypse isn't the only way that cell phones are affecting people.

See anything weird about this person's hand?

Do you see the bend in the pinkie!? Yeah, that's not normal...

Surprisingly (but not really), there's actually a simple cause behind it, but her finger is only in the early stages...

It's called "smartphone pinkie."

The theory is that the weight of the phone on your pinkie finger is what causes the curvature.

The worst part about it?

A ton of people are having this happen to them and it doesn't look fun... At all.

It even has people getting scared and examining their fingers for the "deformity."

Some people, like this guy, even have imprints left in their finger from the weight of their phone!

Worse comes to worst, just get a fake pinky!
