It turns out that there are instances in which the room you're staying in, no matter how much you paid, is dirty. You have to see the disturbing note that one Reddit user found embedded in his hotel sheets...
SHARE this article with your Facebook friends who stay in hotels frequently. You might be doing them a big favor.
After travelling for hours and hours, the sight of a beautiful clean hotel bed is like seeing water in the desert.
All you want to do is hop in and get some much needed Z's for the next day.
Stop right there, though!
Before you snuggle into bed, here are a few things you should probably know about hotel rooms...
When you're not in your hotel room, you likely envision housekeeping doing a thorough deep cleaning of your room.
The thought of a clean bed makes it seem even more comfy, right?
A recent Inside Edition investigation tested how clean hotel rooms really are by using a pretty interesting technique.
In several different hotels, fluorescent paint that was only detectable with a black light was sprayed on the sheets to check whether housekeeping had changed them from the previous day.
They left the paint overnight and decided to check into the room the next day to see if the paint was still there.
Lo and behold, in several hotels the paint was still there, indicating that the exact same sheets were left unwashed on the bed.
Now this brings us to a disturbing note that a Reddit user found in their hotel bed after slipping in to get some sleep...
A Reddit user posted this picture of a note they found in their hotel bed.
The caption "Heard something crinkle when I settled in for the night..." was included.
Definitely horrifying I would say, or at least enough to make me jump out of the bed immediately.
In case you couldn't read the message, here it is close up.
"If you're reading this, then housekeeping did not change your sheet!"
It might be a good idea for everyone to leave this kind of note in their sheets before leaving their hotel room. You might as well let the person after you know what they're about to hop into.
