When reporters do a live feed, viewers will often be treated to the unexpected. The reporters can't be in complete control of their surroundings as much as they would like to be, so there's always an element of surprise with those broadcasts. Usually, viewers just get to see idiots in the background mugging for the camera while the reporter tries to keep a straight face and get their story in. But on occasion, something startling shows up on camera.

Serene Branson, an award-winning reporter, had done dozens of live reports in her career, almost certainly dealing with all kinds of unexpected circumstances before. But one broadcast in particular will stand out for the rest of her life.

Serene herself made headlines for a live feed from the Grammy Awards in 2011 — and not for any reason she wanted to. Before the broadcast, Serene recalls having a bad headache and, as she was going over her report, finding the words blurry and her thoughts disordered. However, determined to push through, she gathered herself together and went on the air. Right from the start, it was clear that something was very wrong.

Normally clear-spoken, Serene couldn't get her words out. She knew what she wanted to say, but her mouth betrayed her. Although many would later accuse her of being on drugs or drunk, Serene was undergoing a medical episode that other sufferers around the world recognized: a complex migraine. It's wasn't a stroke, as some people thought; rather, it was a much more common concern that can affect up to 75 percent of women. Thankfully, her producer realized that something wasn't right and pulled her off-camera quickly and called paramedics.

Watch the video to see the complete scary incident and Serene's reaction to seeing her episode for the first time.
