Most of us have fallen victim to some kind of April Fool's Day prank in our lives. Usually, a friend or a coworker will pull it on you, but lately, major retailers have gotten in on the game.

IKEA is making some waves online after posting a prank gallery of images related to some changes they 'plan' on making in their stores. Let's just say that some parents didn't get the joke and are pretty miffed about the whole thing.

You have to see this for yourself...

April Fool's Day is upon us and every year certain companies use the opportunity to get a little publicity — and this year is no exception.

IKEA decided to get involved in the pranking spirit a little early by posting a "new and improved" children's play space.

After all, IKEA knows how important this play space is to shoppers, so they knew that making an interesting change to it would get some reactions.

Let's take a look at the gallery they posted to their Facebook page...

In their Facebook post— which is totally a prank by the way — goes into detail about the upcoming changes that will be happening with the play area known as Småland.

"We’re about to transform Småland from a playground into a ‘press-play-ground’! Our studies of children’s play habits reveal that today’s kids prefer tablets to physical activity. So we’re replacing the magical forest with a haven of sitting pods with tablets—recreating the way your kids play," they wrote.

The first image in their prank gallery includes children in individual chairs, not communicating in any way, and looking at their tablets.

"Welcome to the new Småland, now updated for the kids of today," wrote IKEA.

This photo was included in their gallery, a child on a tablet.

The caption IKEA added was, "We've recreated in-store the way they play at home — staring and tapping."

"Småland now comes with pods that let each child enjoy being alone with a tablet," IKEA wrote for this image in the gallery.

But they keep going...

To keep the prank going, IKEA put in a caption that sounds pretty believable.

"Each tablet contains videos fit for viewing across all ages," they wrote.

"With our high speed connection, your little one will never be idly waiting for videos to load," was included as a caption for this image.

Apparently many parents didn't get the joke and went off on IKEA's page.

"Kids should be running around giggling and playing," said one person. Obviously, these parents have the right idea when it comes to what is good for children, but, of course, IKEA was just kidding around.

What do you think about IKEA's April Fool's Joke? Did they go too far?
