- puff pastry
- tomato sauce
- egg, beaten
- pastry brush
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- bacon cut into 4 inch slices
- 4 eggs
The method:
Take your pastry sheet and cut a one inch square strip around the edges. Cover the inside square with tomato sauce. Brush the beaten egg around the outer edge. Cook the bacon in the olive oil. Place the cooked bacon in the pastry square to create borders. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Take it out of the oven. It's going to look good. It's going to smell even better. The buttery puff pastry and bacon will tantalize your senses. DON'T STOP THERE! Crack your eggs, one at a time, in a small dish before putting it on the pastry. This will make sure that you're not getting any shells on it, and will make it easier to get the eggs on the pastry without breaking the yolk. Return it to the oven, still at 400, for 10 more minutes. And NOW you have your perfectly amazing breakfast ready to devour.
