Female Bodybuilder Julia Vins Is Crushing Gender Stereotypes In The Sport

The gym is typically dominated by over-confident meat heads that often balk when a newbie comes through the doors. Men are usually considered bigger and stronger, but is that always the case? NOPE!

One young woman from Russia, Julia Vins, is crushing gender stereotypes after getting into bodybuilding in her teen years as a way to fill a void in her life. Men have laughed at her, but she has answered them in the craziest way possible...

SHARE this incredible article with your Facebook friends. They need to hear about Julia's amazing journey.

Julia Vins was born and raised in Russia.

Until her teenage years, she would always be described by her peers as "doll face."

In an interview with Daily Mail, Julia said that "because of my facial features, people have always said I look like a doll."

Julia needed more in her life, though, and took up bodybuilding at 15.

In the interview, Julia also went on to say, "'I have these big, beautiful eyes and wear make-up. But at the same time, I'm strong." Julia wanted to prove to everyone, especially the men who would view her training in a negative light, that it's entirely possible for a woman to be strong and "objectively" beautiful.

Here is Julia in 2011 before she began her training...

You have to see how successful she has been at powerlifting. Wow!

Since she was 15, Julia has gone on to set three powerlifting world records.

She started making some serious progress after modeling her training after men at her gym.

Julia found sports to be a very fulfilling practice.

"I had no interest in sports but I was lost. I thought I might see if I could build some strength and confidence by weight training at the gym," she said.

While some people have labeled her situation the Beauty and the Beast, it's clear that she is able to bring a new element of coolness to the male-dominated weightlifting profession.

In 2014, she won the World Powerlifting Championships in Moscow and has some pretty impressive powerlifting stats.

Julia can deadlift roughly 400 lbs...

...and bench press 230 lbs.

Not only has she achieved some great medals, she is putting both men and women to shame with her muscle measurements.

At 5'3", Julia has a 26-inch measurement around her thigh and a 15-inch bicep.

Since developing her muscular torso, she has developed quite the reputation on Instagram.

Currently, she has over 200,000 followers on the social platform.

One thing is very clear from Julia's story. Never discount a woman when you see them at the gym. Some of them can kick your a&@!
