Pampers Introduces Flat Diapers For Premature Infants In The NICU

SHARE
About 1 in every 10 babies are born premature, but while there have been great advances in medical technology, sometimes the simplest needs get overlooked.

Take diapers, for example.

They seem pretty straightforward, but preemies often have specific needs that current diapers don't support.

From having skin too sensitive for tape or elastic waistbands to gastrointestinal issues to simply being too darned small, finding the perfect diaper for all cases is nearly impossible.

Pampers studied those needs and came out with the first-ever flat diaper made specifically for preemies in the NICU.

The diaper is made of soft, breathable materials with no tape or elastics. A special moisture barrier prevents leaking, and by making the entire thing absorbant, nurses can put the diaper on in whatever position is most comfortable.

The fragrance-free diapers are being launched in partnership with the March of Dimes as part of Prematurity Awareness Month.

A box of the new diapers will be donated to every single NICU in the United States.

In addition, Pampers will be donating up to $300,000 to the March of Dimes with the help of their customers.

To take part, parents can share their baby's fighting spirit under #LittleFighters on social media, and Pampers will donate $5 for each story.

They'll also donate $5 for every time a parent submits their story to TODAY.com, and $10 for everyone who subscribes for Pampers delivery on Amazon Prime from November 11–17.

You can also donate your Pampers Rewards points directly, and Pampers will match your donation.

For every person who participates, Pampers will donate to the March of Dimes, so take part if you can and help all the littlest fighters in the country.
