In today's day and age, you can never really tell what's real and what isn't. Take a look at people who have mastered Photoshop. It has become an art form where people 'shop ridiculous things into otherwise boring pictures. Similarly, people are able to fake real-life products. Think of all the fake clothes, shoes, and watches that people are constantly selling (fake Rolex, Jordans, etc). It seems like people are always coming up with ways to cheat the system and come out on top. There's always some kind of imitation being sold, and this sadly applies to almost every product. Well, this type of imitation is precisely what has been happening as of late, except with an extremely unexpected product.

Law enforcement has recently found an extremely odd market getting hit hard by counterfeiting. What is it? Laundry detergent. What happens is they buy buckets and buckets of fake laundry detergent for an extremely low price, then they throw on whatever label they want. Usually, the labels are big names like Tide, Sunlight, Gain, etc. Once they're labeled, they look legitimate, so they begin to sell them at high prices, but still lower than you'll find at your local stores. One of the police officers in the video even mentions how some of them make similar amounts of money selling fake detergent compared to selling drugs, except fake detergent wouldn't carry as long of a jail sentence, nor is it obvious. Scientists at Procter and Gamble tested the detergent and found that it's so diluted that it's practically the equivalent of washing your clothes in just water.

What do you think about the counterfeit laundry detergent?COMMENTand let us know!
