The Internet Is Super Confused About This Picture. But The Truth Is Amazing

The Internet is a force, but whether it's for good, evil, procrastination, or just plain laughs, is impossible to tell some days. It's fascinating to see what folks browsing the Internet will latch onto from one day to the next — maybe it's the color of a dress, a happening dance crew, puppies doing adorable puppy things, or spoiling the latest superhero blockbuster. Whatever the case, you just know something interesting is happening.

The latest thing for the Internet to obsess over is a simple photo, just another selfie in a sea of selfies — at least, that's what it appears to be on the surface. But the Internet doesn't explode over nothing. Take a closer look.

Twitter user @itsthemans posted a photo that looked innocent enough at first glance.

However, it's had the Internet foaming at the mouth, creeped out, and doing double-takes.

Look closer and you'll see that something is very wrong with this picture.

Reflections aren't supposed to work that way. We should be seeing the back of her head, not the front.

Yeah, creepy, right?

The Internet definitely agreed, asking "What kinda devilish ting is going on?"

Of course, it didn't take long for theories to start popping up.

One user recalled the first Harry Potter movie, when Professor Quirrell has the face of Voldemort growing out the back of his head.

Another figured that the pattern in her scarf somehow made the reflection look like her face.

Others saw that the photo had been uploaded to 9gag, which allows users to manipulate photos when they share them. 

So what do you think? 

Is there some photographic foolery at work? Is it the scarf? Is the Internet right to be in a frenzy?

Either way, something isn't right here! And @itsthemans seems to have suspended his account, so it's up to everyone to feed this fire with heaps of speculation.
