SHARE
There is no shortage of drama going down on Twitter these days. On the daily, we hear about a celebrity who is settling some beef or politicians stirring up controversy. Basically, Twitter has become a forum for settling disagreements it seems. The great thing about social media, though, is that a huge group of people can get behind a good cause and let their voices be heard on a massive scale.

This is exactly what student Mimi Mbah found out after a Twitter hater made despicable racist comments on a picture of hers. Let's just say she hit back hard and the world loved it.

SHARE this article with your Facebook friends. We all have a thing or two to learn from Mimi.

1. Most of the time, Twitter battles are superficial and lack real substance — but other times, people go too far...

2. Meet 19-year-old Mimi Mbah from Cameroon. The student and model currently lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland and her story is causing quite the stir online.

3. Mimi posts quite regularly on Instagram and Twitter, but one day she noticed that someone had something horrible to say about a picture of hers.

@lybonv2 wrote "[If] she was lighter, she'd be fire." In an interview with the Daily Mail, Mimi said, "Reading the comments I definitely felt disappointed to see that there are still people out there that shame others for the darkness of their skin, but it didn't surprise me because I've heard comments like those before."

4. Not acceptable, right?

Mimi had a reply in store that would bring the world behind her...

5. Of course, Mimi wasn't about to take that kind of offensive language.

6. Here's the powerful comeback reply Mimi had for @lybonv2.

"No thanks, I wouldn't trade my skin color for the world!" she wrote.

7. Perfection.

8. In epic fashion, the Twitter world came to Mimi's defense and it was pretty inspiring...

@CJLawrenceEsq wrote "I know you don't need my confirmation at all, but I agree that you truly are beautifully made as you are. Keep shining, sister."

9. The support just kept coming, too.

@HashtagNeon wrote "I'm confused why he had the audacity to criticize a goddess to her face."

10. Mimi's story has gone viral and she has been posting screen shots of her story being shared around the internet.

On this Instagram post, she wrote "Wow I'm overwhelmed! God is good."

11. But she didn't hit back at her hater just because she herself was attacked.

"I wanted to stand up not only for me, but for anybody who has felt or [feels] less than due to the ignorance of others," she said.

12. "Overall I want all my dark skin girls to know that we are chocolate goddesses no matter what anyone says," added Mimi.

For sure this is one example where the social media world helped to reaffirm basic principles of decency.
