It sounds like something right out of a Dan Brown book, but below the countryside in Shropshire, England, there's a secret underground Knights Templar church.
And you have to get down on hands and knees and crawl down a rabbit hole to get inside. It's believed that the cave dates back 700 years, when Knights Templar in the area carved it out of the sandstone.
Inside is a remarkably large cavern with a few smaller chambers again accessible only by crawling.
It's hard to believe anybody worshiped in such a place, but it bears a circular nave common to known Knights Templar churches, imitating the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
The church might also have been used by local pagans and druids over the years.
Michael Scott, who explored the caves with his camera in tow, told the BBC he "traipsed over a field to find it, but if you didn't know it was there you would just walk right past it. Considering how long it's been there it's in amazing condition, it's like an underground temple."
The cave church appears to have weathered the centuries well, but it would still likely be an uncomfortable place to worship.
Michael said he found it "quite cramped" and said anyone taller than 6' would have to crouch down inside.
