1. The show was conceived when creator Adam Reed was reading a bunch of James Bond books and then was ignored by a sexy lady on vacation.
He thought a spy would have been able to seal the deal. Which Archer does. All the time.
2.The network originally wanted Archer's voice to be a handsome guy who looked like the character.
But instead they got H. Jon Benjamin.
3. In a DVD extra, Archer dreams he was in a horrible accident and wakes up looking like his voice actor.
He can't even get a pity bone from Pam.
4. The FX network has only forced the show to make changes two times.
One was because Archer was going to throw a newborn baby at an enemy to disarm him. Classic.
The other was a young German girl that was trying to seduce Archer and the show-writers wanted to make her 14.
Which is the legal age of consent in Germany, but icky everywhere else.
5. There's a rise in babies being named Archer.
The perfect name if you're hoping to raise an alcoholic, narcissistic egomaniac.
6. There has been talk of a full-length movie, and maybe it would even be live-action – and if it happens they'd want Jon Hamm to play Archer.
Perfect, as long as Benjamin dubs him.
7. Just like her character Mallory – Jessica Walter doesn't get a lot of the pop culture references in the show.
"I have no idea of half the things. I always have to ask, 'What does this mean?' because I’m not trendy."
8. Mallory's husband – Ron Cadillac – is played by Jessica Walter's husband in real life.
His name's Ron Leibman and hopefully their real marriage is much less dysfunctional.
9. Sure Archer and Lana had a baby, together but Adam Reed doesn't think it will affect the show all that much.
He did say, "I am excited to see all the trouble that Archer can get into while babysitting." He's already tried to throw a baby at a bad guy, what left is there?
10. Cheryl was supposed to be killed off in the first season!
That would be like taking the "erotic" out of auto-erotic asphyxiation.
11. Reed doesn't plan on revealing who Archer's biological father is until the very last episode.
Luckily Mallory has given us plenty of options.
12. The character of Mallory is inspired by Dame Judy Dench as M in the James Bond movies.
I guess if you're a fan of Archer you owe a big ol' thanks to 007.
13. Archer's man crush – Burt Reynolds – wasn't happy with his voice acting for his cameo.
"I personally thought I was a little too dull, maybe they should've gotten me after I'd had a few drinks." I think I'm understanding why he's Archer's idol.
SHARE if you can't wait for another season!
