Enchanted introduced the whole world to Amy, and since then she's gone on to star in several blockbuster movies and get several Oscar nominations under her belt. We've seen her take on so many different roles, but she remains pretty private about her personal life. Here's what she's revealed about herself throughout the years.
1. Amy is known as a redhead, but surprise! She's actually a natural blonde.
2. She said that switching up her hair color helped her career.
“Based on roles that I was getting called in for, people were responding to certain types of characters with me as a blonde and the minute I went red, it was quirky and fun instead of flirtatious and dumb. It was great. I liked that."
3. She said that the most terrifying thing she's ever done was sing "Happy Working Song" from Enchanted at the Oscars.
“It’s almost like I can’t talk about it again. I don’t know how I did that. It’s the thing that was the most terrifying that I’ve ever done, and the thing I’m most proud of in my career.”
4. She originally had dreams to become a ballerina.
5. Amy admitted she was "devastated" on the set of American Hustle while working with director David O. Russell because he would make her cry.
6. Meryl Streep taught her how to knit on the set of Doubt.
7. She only decided to move to Los Angeles after Kirstie Alley, her co-star in Drop Dead Gorgeous, encouraged her to move out west and really take acting seriously.
8. Amy has been nominated for an Oscar five times, but she still hasn't won the coveted gold statue.
She's definitely the new Leonardo DiCaprio.
9. Amy played Jim Halpert's love interest in The Office.
She played Katy in seasons 1 and 2.
10. Amy met her husband Darren Le Gallo in an acting class.
And they have a daughter named Aviana.
11. She played Leonardo DiCaprio's love interest in Catch Me If You Can. It was supposed to be her big break, but then she didn't work for almost a year after that.
"I mean I could blame it on a lot of other things but I choked. I just felt this pressure to suddenly be this level of actress that I wasn’t confident enough to be. I did a series of really bad auditions, I had opportunities presented to me and I let the nerves get the best of me.”
12. She said that she'd love to swap places with Oprah for a day.
13. She admitted that she was so distracted by Lee Pace while filming Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day because he was "so dashing." The director had to ask Lee to leave the set because she was always staring at him.
