For Ginger Sprouse, it was three years, and when she realized that she was seeing the same guy on the same corner every day, she couldn't just drive past anymore.
Ginger drove past that corner every day on her way to and from work, and she became curious about the homeless man who never left. Finally, she rolled down her window and asked him about himself.
His name is Victor. He suffered from a number of mental disorders, had no job or home, and he had no family to help. One day his mother had dropped him off at the corner and told him to wait. She never returned, but he still waited.
Ginger decided to help him, launching a Facebook page and a GoFundMe campaign to ask the community for aid.
It was even better than she expected. The page quickly grew a following and many people began to offer money, goods, and services to help Victor out.
It started small, with gifts of clothing and cash. Then a bicycle, a cell phone, and a place to sleep.
Through donated time and services, Victor has been able to get a fresh haircut, his teeth cleaned, and his eyesight checked.
But Ginger didn't stop there. Victor now has a job working at her business, Art of the Meal, and through the thousands of Facebook followers, Victor has begun to reunite with his family.
First, he was put in contact with an uncle from east Texas, and then last week he was finally reunited with his mom! It's such an incredible thing that Ginger has done for Victor!
