This Dad Makes Wonder Woman's Invisible Plane Out Of Balloons For His Daughter

One of the best parts of comic conventions (or any convention of the nerdy variety) is the costume play (cosplay), and the cutest is always the kids. Sure, that baby dressed as an Ewok may have no idea what's going on, but it sure is cute. The best ones, though, are the kids who are clearly just as into it as their parents.

When Marty Pants, a professional balloon artist with an awesome name, discovered how much his 5-year-old daughter Penny loved the DC Super Hero Girls franchise, he asked her if she wanted to go to an event in Milwaukee dressed as Wonder Woman — complete with her invisible plane. Once promised, he had to deliver.

Wonder Woman's invisible plane has always been one of those fun bits of comic detail that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but people love anyway.

What good is an invisible plane if you aren't also invisible when riding in it? Who cares? It's awesome in the silliest way!

Pants has made other cool costumes for his daughter, like this green dress made entirely from balloons.

Man, she has the coolest dad, doesn't she?

In the end, the jet required about 275 balloons, with Penny helping her dad by inflating each one and acting as the official critic for the final result.

Though a few balloons popped throughout the day, Pants is a professional and made sure to have plenty of spare balloons for on-site repairs.

"I should know by now that I shouldn't promise a 5-year-old anything I'm not willing to actually do!" he said.

It's a lesson he'll likely never forget again!

The plane turned out awesome! SHARE it with everyone you know!
