9 Priceless Treasures People Found For Next To Nothing

SHARE
In the world today, we have so many items just floating around. Realistically, most things end up in the garbage and are likely never to be seen again, but that's not said for everything. Some things can end up in thrift shops and, quite honestly, you can find some gems if you look carefully. Most of the time, it's more likely you'll save a few dollars than strike gold and become a millionaire. For some, however, the latter is what happened. Could you imagine buying something for a few dollars, only to realize that it was worth thousands, if not millions? Yeah, that's the dream...

With so many things available at thrift shops, you're bound to find something good, right?

1. This Alexander Calder necklace was purchased from a thrift store for a mere $15. Turns out it was worth $267,750.

2. After buying this painting for $3 from a Goodwill, the purchaser ended up reselling it for $190,000.

3. After spotting this cup in a thrift store for $4, an Australian man had a hunch. He purchased it and had it appraised at $20,000—$30,000, though it ended up selling for $75,640.

4. This woman got super lucky by buying a video game for $8 and reselling it for a whopping $15,000.

5. I don't know what's more surprising, the fact that she bought this purse for $31 and sold it for $546,000, or that a purse is even worth that much.

6. Jeff Bidelman was helping clean out an old abandoned house when he managed to find roughly $200,000 worth of antique coins. Whew.

7. Yes, that's the Declaration of Independence in his hands. This man bought what he thought was a replica of the Declaration, but it ended up being one of the original 200 authentic copies of the document, selling for $477,650.

8. After finding this Faberge Egg for $13,000 at a flea market, the buyer researched it and realized he had just become filthy rich... It turned out to be worth $33,000,000.

9. This James Bond watch was bought for $33 and sold for $133,000 because it was worn by Sean Connery in "Thunderball."

I guess it's true, you never know what you're going to find in a thrift shop!
