12 Gold Medal Beauty Secrets From Olympic Athletes

SHARE
The summer Olympics are here! I'm excited, and this is coming from someone who could care less about sports. For some reason, once the Olympics roll around, I start to get interested in gymnastics, swimming, and a bunch of other sports. The Olympics brings out the inner cheerleader in me, and I'm hoping my country can take home the gold! Let's go!

I have a huge appreciation for all the athletes who are competing. It's so inspiring to see their dedication and hard work. Not going to lie, it makes me want to be a better person. Each athlete has sacrificed so much, and whether they win or lose, just know that I'm proud of you!

Even though these athletes train day and night, they do not neglect to take care of their body. Check out these 12 Olympic athletes and learn what their favorite products, beauty secrets, and tips are that help them stay on theirA game.

1. Alex Morgan

Even though this soccer player is out training in the sun all day, her hair is actually in pretty good condition. Alex uses Redken Argan Oil to keep her hair healthy and nourished. I have used this product before and I love it!

2. Kerri Walsh

Kerri claims that the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer makes her feel “youthful and vibrant.” I want to feel that way, too! I need to buy this.

3. Gabby Douglas

Along with her leotards and gold medals, America’s golden girl is bringing her favorite lip gloss to Rio! She loves to use CoverGirl’s Colorlicious Gloss in the shade Give Me Guava. Her lips stay nourished, hydrated, and pretty in pink! Perfect!

4. Wu Minxia

Wu has five Olympic diving gold medals. What a boss! She trains for eight to ten hours daily, so you can imagine how damaged her hair must be. To repair that damage, she likes touse Pantene Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner. Thanks for letting us know your secret, Wu!

5. Katie Zaferes

I really like this beauty tip! This triathlete doesn't shave until the day of the race, and she shaves with a Men's Schick Hydro 5. She says having her legs shaved makes her feel faster in the water. Let's see if this beauty secret will help her win a gold medal!

6. Jenny Arthur

After a long day of weightlifting, Jenny keeps her hands smooth with Amala hand cream. Ain't nobody got time for calluses.

7. Anita Alvarez and Mariya Koroleva

This synchronized swimming duo have to wear a lot of makeup during their routine. Their makeup can not melt off in the water, so it has to be waterproof. If any of their makeup is not waterproof, Anita and Mariya like to use Makeup Forever Aqua Seal. This product converts your favorite makeup products into waterproof formulas. Aqua Seal is amazing, and it has not let this duo down.

8. Hair

I was so shocked when I heard about this beauty secret. Anita and Mariya put Knox gelatin in their hair! The gelatin gets really hard in their hair, so it stays in place while they swim. This sounds gross, but it's a really smart idea.

9. Emily Seebohm

Emily and I are on the same page with this beauty tip because I also love to wear mascara. This swimmer uses Napoleon Perdis Waterproof Mascara to make her lashes pop throughout the competition. Good thing it's waterproof!

10. Tori Bowie

I'm really intrigued by this beauty secret. Tori applies baby oil onto her skin to help soothe and energize her muscles. I'm going to do this when I get home from the gym tonight!

11. Sandi Morris

Sandi has overcome many obstacles. This pole vaulting competitor injured her wrist this year, but that has not stopped her from competing in Rio. She has brought along her Benefit Hello Flawless liquid foundation to wear during the competition. This foundation gives you natural coverage, and it has SPF 25 — perfect for competing on a sunny day.

12.  Sarah True

The swimming in triathlons has taken a toll on Sarah's skin: she says her face gets really dry after being in the water for so long. Before Sarah starts a triathlon, she applies Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream onto her face. That's a good idea because it might be a little uncomfortable to compete if your face is dry.
