16 Important Details Everyone Missed In 'Beauty And The Beast'

I screamed so loud when I found out the official trailer for Beauty and the Beast came out. I was so excited to finally see Emma Watson as Belle, the best Disney princess! Unfortunately, the movie doesn't come out until next year, but I can already tell that I won't be disappointed! The trailer made me go back and watch the original cartoon version. And when I watched it, I noticed so many more things because I wasn't so busy closing my eyes and singing along to all the songs. Here are some important details that the sneaky filmmakers left in that you might have missed out on!

1. Everyone in the town knows Belle is different but you might not have noticed just how different! She's the only character that wears blue... until she meets the Beast!

2. Disney movies can be a lot more terrifying than people even realize. In the movie, Lumière says that the Beast has been waiting for the curse to be broken for 10 years! And the curse is broken on his 21st birthday, which means he's been suffering since he was 11!

Yikes! I bet he wish he listened to his parents when they told him never to talk to strangers...

3. Aladdin came out after Beauty and the Beast but that didn't stop the filmmakers from making a reference to it! When Belle is at the library, she mentions "far-off palaces, daring swordfights, magic spells and a prince in disguise.

How cool is that?! I've never even noticed that before!

4. When Belle was weeping over Beast's body, the voice actress was actually crying in the recording booth during the scene! It was so realistic that the crew had to ask her if she was okay! She didn't say anything else but this: "Acting!"

5. Beauty and the Beast is connected to another Disney movie! In the forest outside of the Beast's castle, you can see Bambi's mom!

6. Nobody ever noticed this but the Beast's name is never mentioned in the movie by anyone! Belle calls him "Beast" but it was only confirmed on the CD-ROM released later that his name is Prince Adam. 

I don't know but I think Prince Adam sounds a lot nicer than Beast. 

7. The names for all the characters were carefully chosen! Belle means "beauty" or "beautiful" and Phillippe, the family's horse, comes from a Greek word that means lover of horses!

8. Belle isn't just set apart from every character because of her blue dress but also because of her hair! That loose strand of Belle's hair signifies that she's not perfect. 

9. In every scene he's in, Maurice's socks never match!

10. The movie's directors ended up being in the movie! In the opening number, they're the two men singing in the town square.

11. The gargoyles in the Beast's castle are actually kind of scary! The design of them were based on older drawings of the Beast!

12. Did you notice that the Beast is based on different animals? He's a combination of a lion, gorilla, buffalo, bear and more!

13. If you look closely at the signs on the way to the Beast's castle, there are a ton of other places listed like Anaheim and Valencia. Those cities in California are pretty far away from France!

14. Does everyone in the movie hate calling people by their names?! Belle is only called by her real name by Chip! All the others call her "the girl."

15. The weather is really weird in rural France. Belle is soaking up the sun in a field, but when Gaston is singing, it's snowing outside!

16. The book that Belle is reading is the story of the movie! You can see that the girl in the book wears the same dress as Belle!
