The grumpy grandpa story all began when his grandchildren moved from Brazil, which is where Grandpa lives, back to Korea, the family's home country.
When his grandchildren left, he spent his days watching Korean TV, and it worried his family.
Grumpy Grandpa used to draw a lot when his kids were younger.
His son, who lives in New York, thought it would be a good idea for him to start drawing again. But this time, he wanted Grandpa to post his drawings on Instagram.
Naturally, grumpy Grandpa hated the idea!
He never even heard of Instagram! But his wife is more into all those social media sites, so she and her son came up with a plan.
They got the grumpy Grandpa to start drawing again, and his wife posted the photos on Instagram for him.
This is one of the first drawings that he posted, and wow, his drawings have improved since this first post. Even with his wife handling the social media account, grumpy Grandpa still hated it.
Once his grandson, Astro, was born in New York, Grandpa's son was determined to teach him how to use Instagram.
When grumpy Grandpa was visiting in New York, he brought up that he wondered what Astro would become when he grew up. Grandpa said he wouldn't be around anymore to see. This made his son sad to think that Astro might never get to know his grandpa. It actually made me sad, too!
This gave his son an idea!
He told his dad that should draw for his grandchildren: Arthur, Allan, and Astro. Grandpa was into it, and he found more joy in drawing.
Not only that, but he was also eager to learn about Instagram.
He's been drawing every say since.
He likes to draw his grandchildren!
Run, Astro, run!
Here is an awesome painting of all the toys that his grandchildren left behind before they left for Korea.
This is so adorable!
Here's one of Astro sleeping.
I'm envious of his deep sleep!
In this drawing, grandpa tells the story of when he and his wife went to Havana.
This drawing was done in honor of Muhammed Ali.
For the caption, he wrote that this amazing athlete is the same age as him, and he went to heaven a few days ago. It's so beautiful that he's leaving these stories behind for his grandchildren to learn about.
Here's a drawing that is about the Rio Olympics.
By the way, these drawings have brought the family even closer. They talk to each other every day. So sweet!
He even knows about Pokémon GO!
That's awesome, considering he only used his cell phone for phone calls.
Grandpa likes to draw a lot about Brazil!
This is supposed to be São Paulo.
Grandpa is still going strong with these drawings!
Amazing!
