Big brother Kanon is super excited to suddenly have three little sisters. "He's very affectionate towards them, takes his big brother role seriously and wants to help," Karae told The Huffington Post.
"He wakes up in the morning wanting to lay down next to them. He thinks he knows what they are saying and already wants to show them off. He knows they're special."
Family photos have definitely expanded faster than the Courseys could ever have predicted. There are barely enough arms to hold them all!
Karae hopes that she can let other moms expecting multiples know that "it gets easier." Her words of encouragement are, "Hang in there."
She's especially vocal about how moms can't be discouraged when there are problems with breastfeeding.
The Coursey girls didn't even come home at the same time, so Karae had difficulty scheduling feeding and pumping amidst her visits from home to the hospital. "Once I started them on formula there was a weight that was lifted," she said, "I wasn't so anxious about feedings."
She explains that starting them on formula allowed her to focus on everything else they needed her for.
And as a bonus bit of advice that's great for all moms — especially those with double or triple the feedings — Karae recommends putting a mini fridge and bottle warmer in the nursery, to save those constant trips back and forth from the kitchen.
