15 Things To Know About 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'

I think one of the most underrated movies is Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I mean, it had everything! It had comedy, romance and a whole lot of action. Plus,  we got Brangelina from this movie! Sadly, Brangelina is no more, but at least we have Mr & Mrs. Smith to rewatch over and over again to remember their insane chemistry. And if you're still upset about the break up, then here are some facts about the movie that marked the beginning of Brangelina.

1. Brad Pitt actually left the movie after Nicole Kidman dropped out and nobody had been cast as her replacement. He signed back on when he found out Angelina Jolie was her replacement.

2. When Jane has her first assignment, she actually answers a question from Jeopardy correctly. The whole thing was unscripted and Angelina just decided to answer the question out loud.

3. Angelina likes to collect knives. She had an entire room in her house dedicated to her collection!

This made it easy for her to film the scene where John and Jane dance the tango and throw knives. 

4. Brad and Angelina had gun training together while they were filming the movie. And they used to compete with each other on the rifle range!

Nothing like some friendly competition! 

5. Angelina said that in the beginning, she didn't think she had anything in common with Brad because she thought he was too "clean and straight" while she was a little bit more "dirty."

6. The two of them were good with guns and knives on set but not so much with the dancing. Brad and Angelina had to go to dance lessons to film that one tango scene!

7. A steamy sex scene was filmed between Brad and Angelina that was edited out to get a PG-13 rating.

8. When John enters his office, there's a black suit, white shirt and red tie, which is the hitman outfit from the video game series Hitman!

9. Angelina said she really wanted to be part of the movie because she related to Jane being too closed off. She also said that making the movie made her realize that she needed to embrace life and family more.

10. She also said that she hoped couples would watch the movie and understand that couples who have been together for a very long time should take the time to "rediscover each other."

11. Carrie Fisher (yes, THAT Carrie Fisher) was one of the people who worked on writing the script!

12. After John and Jane discover each other's identities, John trips and his gun goes off as he's running after Jane. That was entirely a mistake and Brad's reaction and him saying "Oh dear God" were genuine!

13. Angelina was brave enough to do the stunt herself where Jane is wearing a dominatrix outfit and jumps four stories from a window.

14. The body count in the movie is 43. 

15. And finally, here's a fact that'll tug at your heartstrings. At the time, Angelina said, "I always fall in love when I'm working on a film."
